  • Epic Tales…

    Of Ballerinas and Road Cones….

Just got in a few days ago from a weekend trip to Atlanta, GA
to shoot Jeremy and Liz’s wedding… Shockingly enough, this was
my 9th weekend on the go with just a few days at home between
them. It’s been such a crazy summer!!

I’m home now for a few more days but I’m thinking seriously about
taking a car trip up the Coast toward Northern Cali, OR one down
South to Mexico… We shall see!

In the meantime… (And before I pass out from exhaustion)
Let me share a few images and a video from this weekend’s shooting.
It was SUCH a blast! Plus, some of the images I captured I’d have to
say are certainly in my list of all time favorites.

I liked them so much in fact, that I made my first EVER video slideshow…
I think I’ll be making a habit of this… Whaddya say, do you like it?

    Pretty darn cool, eh?!

And now, the photo highlights for those of you who want to see
things a bit larger (in no particular order )

    So Happy Together!!

    All Smiles…
    (And ready for her dress!)

    See?
    Told you she was ready….

    And now for her close-up(s)…

Don’t you just love her pointe shoes?!
But wait.. Let’s see ‘em in action.

As you can see, the Church had an awesome parking garage
attached… AND it had reasonably good light that was just begging
for a little contrast / off camera flash work…

    A Bride with Attitude…

Doesn’t she just look so stinkin’ saucy?!
(She really is a bit of a sharp one It’s awesome!)

As I looked around the garage we tried to find a few cool props
that might make for an interesting shot… We found ‘em, though
they came with their own complications

    Push!

The golf cart… I had this great, crazy shot in mind, but ya’ see…
The Church was smart enough to pull the keys out of the carts
before they parked them, leaving our wedding party to push it up
the slope… (Luckily, they’re all incredibly good sports, haha!)

And this is what came of it…

    Other fun props…
    “Dunces?”

I absolutely love Andrew (the groomsman on the far left)’s expression…
    Priceless!

Of course the girls loved the Groom as much as the guys liked the Bride:

*Time And Location Swap = Over*
And yet, a few of them got this wild idea that it might be “cool”
to climb on the wires (in their high heels) – Who ever could have
    given them THAT thought?!

    See it Larger.

    *Time Shift*
The best man happened to be the Groom’s brother… Summarily:

“Brothers and Sisters – Husbands and Wives”

    Pretty cool, eh?

Of course, I shot a bunch of headshots for everyone involved,
hmm let me pick a few:

    Purty (and wonderful) people!

    *Time And Location Jump*
The reception was held in a beautiful little art gallery in Marietta, GA.
Was a perfect venue for this crowd too

    We had lots of fun
    “Peanut Butter Jelly!”

    Departure:

    “Oh ya’ the rings”

And this was the first time I’ve ever been asked to shoot the Groom
carrying his new Bride across their threshold… Was a cool shot, and
well worth chasing the limo into Atlanta I think

(But then, I just love the mirror!)

And that’s all for now folks….
Could really use your prayers for Wisdom, endurance, love, hope and kindness
in my life right now… How can I be praying for you?

P.S. Alright… Fess up… Which was your favorite photo?!

  • WOW Eric… this is by far my favorite wedding!! {that I have seen you do, of course. I am sure that there are many I have missed!} I saw the photos you put on Facebook, and was wowed, but in a post with commentary they are even better.

Btw…parking garage = total genious!! The girls on the wires, the guys with the cones, the bride alone…. awesome job Eric

  • Those are some of the best I have seen.  I love that last picture.  Great job!  How did you like Georgia?  Hot enough for you?

  • My faaavvvourrrites are the first few portrait shots with the bride (I LOVE the one of her leaning against the wall).  The ballet slippers are SUCH a cute idea! What an amazing wedding!

I need to hijack a few of your skillz.

  • I’ll pray for you.

What I need now is a way to generate two to three thousand dollars for immediate (nearly) emergency dental work. $2,000 will keep me from losing a front tooth. $3,000 will do it right so that I can actually bite into something again.Your photography is so fabulous that you shouldn’t need that much help, though. Those photos are incredibly wonderful!

  • I agree…this wedding looks fabulous and fun!  Hard to pick but I will say the 1st of the bride and groom and the lovely radiant pictures of the bride…the white white is stunning.  Of course I love all the fun shots, the pointe pictures and garage pics…clever.  The video is great fun.  Need the stills to be able to really see everything…but the fast paced overview was great!

I will be praying for you….good prayer requests.  Keep close to Him and the word.  Please pray for our upcoming retreat to Mammoth…esp. for the youth to really have a taste from the Lord that captures their hearts.  Also pray I get over this cold!

    Uber hugs, Jenny

  • wow!!!!  i absolutely love these!!!!  how can you not love a ballerina bride?!?!?!

  • Delightful, classic, unique, full of light and joy…you’ve captured a precious day so beautifully…I’ve run out of adjectives to even begin to describe how much I like these photographs. You are becoming such a artist in this medium.
    (Jenny said it so well)

Praying for you a lot today.
    ((((HUGS))))

  • wow – love them all – especially the one with the guys wearing the traffic cones – they almost look like a musical group of some sort… ;)

    good job!

prayers will go up for you!

  • u know, i usually love the funny/awkward pictures, but I think the ballet-ish ones in the parking structure are my favorites by far…I love the contrast and beauty & grace still prevails…I love it!

  • What a fun wedding and fun couple! I hope my friends are that cool when I get married. :) The bridesmaids on the wires are pretty awesome. I also like the first one of the bride in the garage. So cool.

  • They look like fun people.  Great pictures.  you are quite creative!

  • I MUST ask how you shot the bubbles???

  • I love the one of the bridesmaids on the wires in their high heels!

  • I’ve decided my favorite image is Liz leaning against the pillar in the garage…
Luv the angles, her flirty toe shoe with the lifted hemline, her smile and the almost monochromatic colors
I could totally see this as a double page layout in Vogue!

  • My first thought was you were in Atl. and didn’t even call Hannah then I realized she wasn’t in town!  Oh, well.  Was this wedding by chance at The Church of the Apostles??  You caught some nice shots.

Mary told me to check out your pix, awesome stuff!

  • Great job Eric! Looks like you had lot of fun shooting this wedding!

Wedding photography always makes me happy.

  • I miss seeing your photographs

  • Hey Eric!  We have Nikon AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm lens…  We purchased it in August 2007.  We’re pretty sure it’s just really dirty, but haven’t gotten any of our lenses cleaned as of yet…  Any suggestions?
