  • Coast to Coast....

    And Back Again!!

It was a shockingly cold morning in Southern California
when I took off for Florida way back before Christmas.
I walked down the jetway with everything I'd need for the
next 30 days packed into two extraordinarily heavy carry
    on bags.

(I *refuse* to check baggage, it feels like something ALWAYS
    goes wrong, lol)

Now, I'm reaching the end of those thirty days, and my bags
are bursting with new camera toys and heavy coats. I've been
in a half a dozen states and taken a plethora of quick business
trips and adventures here on the East coast. It's been awesome!

That said, I'm typing this from my latest desk... Near Cumming, GA
where I'm photographing a winter wedding that has the potential
to REALLY become a "Winter Wonderland" as they're calling for
a second series of snow flurries and a low in the 20's!

I'm about to head out to shoot a lovely Bridesmaid luncheon so I'd
better cut this short... But not before I post up some of the photos
from my recent "Two Bride Experience"

Blair and Elizabeth are both married to wonderful men.
Liz for nearly 6 years, and Blair for nearly two... And yet,
they both had a horror story to share with me about their
    wedding photographers.

Pictures that looked awful, mean personalities, even
photographers so loud and ubiquitous that they "stole
the show" from the bride and groom.

So... After all that time, they were finally going to get the photos
    they'd always wanted!!

But here's the kicker - Elizabeth is my sister, and Blair is my cousin!

So *I* not only got to take pictures of beautiful brides, but also had half
my family's Christmas presents figured out

    Just Like.... Her Wedding Day.

    My Lovely Sister...

    Crazy.... Depth.

Have I mentioned how much I love my new 5D yet?
The depth of field, and contrast it achieves straight out of camera is AMAZING!

Our location of choice was once again the Inn where I was born and raised...
The Chalet Suzanne. These next few photos were shot atop the dining room,
    over the lake.

    Detailed....

    A "Marilyn Moment...

Blair let me shoot Elizabeth first, and played "Maid of Honor" while
we explored the Chalet the first time... Then she ran home and we took
a few of just her, and the two together!

Of course, I got Blair to model a bit even without her wedding garb

    Liz...

    ....Being Liz

My Mother even came down to see how things were going...

    Details...

THEN, we went back up to the rooftop... See, Blair had changed,
and we simply had to shoot up there again. I think you'll see why :)

A bit of an artistic edit...

Can't decide if I like this one or not, lol.
The next one however is one of my new all time favorite images

    "Mystery"

    Seeing a trend in locations??

They really got into the whole "spinning" thing

    See?

I love their dresses in this one....

    Time to Re-Primp...

    And here's the last one...
The first thing BOTH Brides asked me, was whether or not we
could shoot in the Chalet Bar... And I'll admit, I was initially not
very into the concept... I'm so glad they talked me into it!

And now it's rehearsal time, I'll talk to you all again soon,
SO many more photos and stories to post

Please be praying for us as we travel and work this weekend,
    we need it!!

    Many Blessings

  • It's My Birthday...

    No Crying Required!!

I'm working on a more thorough update, but today is my 22nd birthday,
and I've had a more than a few people insisting I post

My last year was a great one, and I have a feeling that the next one will
    be even better... God Willing!!

Blessings to each of you... (More) photos to come.

    Onward... And Upward!!

  • Do You Have ANY Idea...

How Much Time A Year End Recap Would Take?!?!

    I'll admit...
    I thought about it.

I considered the humbling, arduous, and somewhat daunting task of
creating another post of "epic" proportions... I could display a few
of my favorite photos and tales from the past year, and yet...

Somehow the thought of churning through nearly 200,000  images
excited me far less than processing some of the photos from today's
    "double bride" shoot, lol.

And so... Here we stand; it's 1:25AM in lovely South Florida.
The temperature is dropping (finally) to bearable highs that remind
you there is snow somewhere on the planet, and the last of my family's
94 guests have (finally) departed after last night's New Year's party.

Once again, my commitment to you... Dear readers, wins out over the
    seemingly foolhardy need to sleep.

And so, though I still am FAR behind on my posting, I think I'll start
working to keep things up a bit more often... I'm traveling for the next
twenty days, but I may have a bit of time to catch up!

Without further ado... Here are the photos I captured YESTERDAY,
during a wonderful engagement shoot at the Chalet Suzanne where I
    was born and raised...

Katie & Sam... To Be Wed... 06.07.08

Every time I come home, I'm instantly swamped... See, I make it home
a couple times each year so I always do my best to plan photo shoots our
in advance, with plenty of time to visit, in between...

Yet, somehow.... More always seem to come up!
This visit has been especially crazy, but it's definitely a good kind of crazy

This was one of those shoots we'd planned in advance,
and WHAT  a fun shoot it was! Initially it was supposed to happen
on the 27th but the day before, found me on a quick trip, SICK as a dog
up to North Carolina with a "secret" new client... (more on that as soon
as I'm allowed to announce it

So, we put the shoot off to yesterday, and am I ever glad we did!
The light was wonderful! (And I felt better too

Sam is one of my many cousins, and as he's sure to point out,
the only one taller than I am (He's a whopping 6'7")!

    Did I mention that she's only 5'2.5"?
*She'd probably have me killed if I forgot about that half inch*

They are hilarious, and wonderfully cute together...

The above image was shot in the Chalet's "Little Swedish Bar"...
    One of their favorite hangouts.

    Moments Later....

We made the trek outside, and Katie went on to prove how cute
she was... (She's standing on a step, and wearing big heels to try
to make up a little of the difference, lol).

    "From Good Stock"

Seeing as we're family, I'd better believe he's from "good stock"
    goofy and gawky too, lol.

    Their Preferred Mode Of Transportation....

He literally scoops her up and carries her as often as possible.
It may be deemed a bit silly by the world, but it surely makes
    for some great photo opportunities!!

    Did I Mention....

That they were a little silly?

    And Cute?

Oh, and the whole family LOVES Katie too... She fits right in!

    This Shot...

I particularly like... For the leading lines, and the fact that the sky
opened up JUST at the right moment to get that gorgeous blue.

    Note To Self...

To stimulate hilarity and creativity with future clients,
just add cold water!! Katie and Sam REALLY wanted some photos
of them playing in the water, but just couldn't take the chill above their
ankles.... But they made up for it with spirit!

    They're Naturals...

I love it when I don't even have to give a couple exact direction,
they're completely in love, and completely comfortable when sharing it
with me... Especially when they can't wait to get out of the water

    Though Occasionally....

I may have taken them by surprise

    I Don't Think...

    They minded though

And that's all for me tonight folks...
I pray for blessings on all of you in this great new year...
May God show you the things He wants you to learn, bless you
abundantly, and give you the strength to grow through each trial.

2008 Is already proving to be my best year yet... Make yours even better!

  • Alas and Alack...

    So Many Entries Begun...

Only to jump ahead, because I simply MUST share my experience
at Scott Robert's workshop last week in Pasadena.

See, I've never before had the opportunity to learn anything about
photography in any kind of classroom setting. All of the advancement
I've made these past couple of years has been through intense immersion
within the photography world, and hard work at understanding light and
exposure... And my how far I have come!

I was straight up AWFUL in my early days, lol.

Let me be honest.... I really wasn't sure what I would learn from Scott,
I thought I had a fairly good understanding of light, post processing, and
posing, but GOSH was I wrong!!

Scott is the MASTER of looking for reflected light, using architecture,
and posing people in a manner that looks natural, comfortable, and
gorgeous. I had the opportunity to follow him around and shoot over
his head (he's just the right height ) during an engagement session...
    What an eye opener!

Before this workshop, I'd see a location I liked, and try to make the light
work for IT. Now, with Scott's secrets crammed in my little head, I do
my best to see the light first, and plan locations around IT.

I think we'll be seeing a drastic improvement soon
But first, on to the photos!!

    The Lovely Abigail

Learning, Shooting and (Obviously) Having A Blast...

    Scott Teaching "Hotel Room Strategies"....

He has some brilliant techniques and explains them to each of
his students extremely well, I encourage you to take one of his
classes as soon as possible, and tell him I sent you!

    Aimee...

Playing with my off camera flash... And just bought yet another flash
unit, lots to learn and play with!

    "Finding Light"

Did I mention that Scott is the MASTER of finding light?
This stairway was practically pitch dark, but the reflected light from
the foyer was absolutely amazing, as you can see.

    Pasadena = Incredible...

I'm quietly planning a weekend trip back to Pasadena sometime
soon, the possibilities for freaking sweet photos are incredible!

    The Lovely Linda...

    Tones...

    The Glorious "B"...

A talented fellow student from the UK

    The View From His Perspective...

    Crazy eh?

    Processing Time...

    Shot with Scott's 5D and 50mm F1.2L
This image inspired me to buy a 5D, I picked it up today
    Next up? 50L methinks...

Well, I started writing this post about 14 hours ago, and I've
been going nuts! 2 photoshoots, 1 new camera, and 162 new emails.

Plus, I'm flying back East for Christmas, Friday morning so I really
should get to packing and planning!

Soon, I'll update you on where I'm living, what I'm doing, which
5 States I'll be in over the next 30 days, and each of the dozens of
photoshoots and experiences I've had lately... I can't wait!!

  • We Now Interrupt...

    My Previously Planned Blogging...

To bring you a few photos I snapped during a 20 minute engagement session
with my Cousin Marcus and his then-fiance Misty this week. I'm currently
typing this from Jacksonville, FL with aching feet and tired eyes after
    their wonderful wedding today.

As a photographer, it's always an interesting change of pace to be IN the
wedding party, and subject to not just another photographer, but to all of
the emotion that courses through the wedding party, and the attendee's which
we as photographers sometimes begin to tune out, in the name of capturing
the artistic side of the images.

And you know, I can understand why a lot of photographers feel so disconnected,
but to be honest I just can't bring my self to do that to the Bride and Groom.

The emotions that are a part of a wedding day are incredible... Hope, Love,
Fear, Worry, and Joy all come together into one short, sweet moment where
things become very real, and very resolved for everyone involved.

I'm rambling a bit, but this tired guy has a mind full of thoughts, lol.

    In Short:
I truly believe that as a wedding photographer we HAVE to re-engage ourselves
with the emotions that make a wedding day such an amazing thing. Far too often
(as was the case today), I see photographers recording things without ever feeling
them, and I think that such people can't help but to capture images that PALE in
    comparison to their potential greatness!

I plan on posting one of my private blogs soon with a better explanation of what
I'm talking about here. Until then, only potential Brides get to see what I mean

    </end rant>

    ________________________________________________________________

My Cousin Marcus is just two years my senior, and from the time I can remember,
up through the time I moved out of State, he was my closest friend. We were flying,
driving, and riding buddies and we had all sorts of crazy adventures... Though many
were perhaps eclipsed by our rampant aerial cow tipping.

Shortly after he moved to Jacksonville where he serves in the Air Force as a crew chief
on an F-15 he met his neighbor... The beautiful Misty.

    The hilarity?
We actually spoke shortly after they met... He told me:

"Ya man you have to come visit, we have an awesome place and my
    neighbor is GORGEOUS!"

He was right, and two years later they're married!

    Mr. & Mrs. Marcus Hinshaw

    "Better Together"

    Something was funny...

    They're quite cute together...

Loved this tree... And Marcus got a kick out of the fact that
he got to/ had to touch Misty. Too funny!

Once she got up there though, he looked longingly without me even asking him to.

He didn't stay put for long.

    See?

    Tada!

And so ended our brief photo shoot.
I'll be working to update you all on many, many other such events,
and I might even post some photos of today's festivities if you ask me to

As always, I'd love to have your thoughts on the photos and content of my
posts, so leave me a comment and let me know which photo was your favorite!

I'm going to be spending some time in St. Augustine with my family tomorrow
before I fly back to California on Monday... Should be a blast!! :)

  • It's Been...

    ...Weddings Galore!!

This Summer and Fall have brought wedding after wedding, and adventure
after adventure... I've shot in California, Florida, Arizona, Illinois, Georgia,
Tennessee, and many places in between!

It really has been a blessing to me, but I figured that for it to be complete I
really SHOULD share it with you

You know, it's funny really... My sleep cycle has been fairly good so far this
Fall, but for some reason catching the late flight into LAX from South Florida
last night has left it all messed up, I'm still awake!!

But, enough of my frivolous explanations, let's get on with the stories!!

    Where to start though?
    Hmmm....

    A Few Months Ago:

I got a call from Ingrid Joy, who is one of Scott Roberts protege's and an
incredible artist in her own right. She asked if I could help her shoot a
wedding up in Long Beach on short notice, and as the weekend was
open and I was already on the West Coast I couldn't help but agree.

We arrived at the wedding parties hotel in plenty of time to capture their
getting ready, and we had an absolute blast doing so!

I really enjoyed working with Ingrid too, she has a fantastic eye for posing,
and was truly entertaining as she worked with the Bride and Groom.
    Ten points for you Ingrid!

And now... For my favorite part; the pictures!

    "Hanky Panky"

Many thanks to the marvelous Canon 85mm F1.2L for making
many of these images possible.... I love you.

    "One For The Ladies"

    "Preparations..."

There was a lot of giggling going on...

(I know the water bottle doesn't belong, and I have several images
from after Ingrid removed it, but this one was just too genuine to
    pass up!)

    Of course.... The Cake!

The wedding was held in a beautiful Japanese garden, that really
left everyone glowing... It was lovely!

    "Serenity"

    A Rose Like No Other.....

When I spotted those roses, I just couldn't resist!
    Lovely, eh?

As the time for the ceremony drew near, the groom waited anxiously
but excited, he was a blast, and a HUGE football fan... They even had
their grand entrance to the Super Bowl theme!

    Ready...

    Steady...

    Go....

    No really... Go!

As beautiful as the ceremony was, the party was equally fun.
This was my first ever Asian wedding, and I've got to say, you
guys know how to have fun (and you have some of the most hilarious
    dance moves ever, I'm jealous!!).

    Food Time..

    Portrait Time....

Hmmmm I've now been awake for about 24 hours so my normal goal
for fluidity in posts is a bit shot, haha... Here's a couple of images from
    other recent weddings

Christian And Melissa DeGeorge in Jupiter, FL... This weekend!

Nathan and Katie Fowler in Atlanta, GA in September

And one of my favorite photos from their reception

Over 400 people there, and at least half of them were on the massive
dance floor... The energy was wonderful!

There are more, but here's one of my favorites from Arizona last weekend

And that's all for me folks... I've got to get to sleep, or to work,
or something!! As always, I'd love to know what your favorite
image is, and please don't hesitate to let me know if I can be
    praying for you...

When you ask, it encourages my own walk with Him, which
is oh so important, so help me out!

    Blessings to you and yours

  • And Now For Something...

    ...Completely Different.

As I type this, I'm 4 weddings behind posting here on xanga.
The images have been delivered to their owners, and each photo
has been processed, the only thing remaining is posting them
    here, for your enjoyment!

But alas... I had an amazing weekend, and I think it's time
to break stride... To share some very different photos from my
norm, and to show that I still very much enjoy my life in aviation,
and the joy of taking photos purely for fun

Without further ado... I give you:

    The 2007 Miramar Airshow!!

Years ago, I began my writing career at a small aviation magazine
based in Central Florida. I quickly moved from a writer, to an editor,
and ended up as the advertising editor by age 17.

At the time my life was an absolute flurry of activity, and over the space
of that year, I'd moved on, and my interests starting centering on marketing
and photography.... One thing that stayed with me though, was my media
credentials... And they've constantly been a blessing!!

The process often starts the same way; I decide to travel to some big event...
Conference, Airshow, Sports Game, Auto Show, Race, or the like. I submit
my credentials for approval and the dance begins.

First, they prove that I'm not a stalker, racist, or rapist, then they make sure
I really intend to get my work published, and finally they graciously give me
and my team the "star treatment". It's handy!!

That said, I must admit that working with the Military is different... And if
you ever are in a position of needing something, I recommend offering lots
of free beer For some reason Marines respond well to that, haha.

Bribes aside, this past weekend I was able to offer a truly unique opportunity
to my dear friends Matthew Saville, Mary, and Brianna. By the grace of God,
and a few truly friendly Marines, they were able to join me in the media tent,
and were offered full press passes for the day.

Better yet, because of the relationships I'd struck up in the weeks previous, we
were offered some TRULY remarkable opportunities that no other members
    of the media were afforded!

    More on that later though

We left early... My I shook myself awake at 4:50AM, and we made the drive
South smoothly, even through all the rain, and arrived safely at around 7AM.
You won't mind if I jump right into pictures now, will you?

    "Set The Mood"

For some reason, most of the photos I shot left me with the same
giddy, but sepia toned mood... The clouds throughout the day improved,
and made for some incredible drama in the shots.... But you'll see what I
mean as you look through this post

This giant image is actually an 8 image stitch..... Click Here to see it much larger,
the way it should be seen [if you are a dial up user, don't even think about it though!]

After hurrying about, shooting all the same static displays that everyone had access to,
I made a quick run back to the Media "chalet" to find out if I could convince them to
let me into the restricted area.

A particularly adventuresome Corporal said "Well, if the men with guns don't stop us,
we'll be okay... Let's try it!"

    Corporal Taylor

After picking up the rest of the gang, we headed into the restricted
area.... And were immediately greeted by some of the heroes of my
youth. The Red Baron Pizza Flying Squadron!!

I got to hang out with the lead pilot for a bit, and he ended up giving
me his card, and a ballcap... Look for potential in flight photos with
them sometime in December or January

From the Barons, we made our way down through a massive hangar
filled with all the civilian airshow performers and I was able to capture
some really unique portraits of them as they were preparing for their
    routines... Such a cool experience!

But then.... It was on to the closed of... "RESTRICTED" side of the
hangar... The place where Skunk Works pride and joy was resting.

    The F-117 Stealth Fighter.

Our guide warned us that we may not be able to get close to it at all,
and I prepared myself to be led away by Marines with M-16's, but
pushed on until I'd walked to with in a few feet, smiling at the guards
    and quickly switching lenses.

The Piercing Eyes Of A Pilot.

There's just something about the eyes of a pilot... Piercing, yet
somehow filled with a realization of beauty. As a pilot myself,
I understand the reasons yet I'm always fascinated by them.

A true appreciation for Glory, I suppose.

    "Business End"

Just after we arrived, the team began pulling the Stealth out to prep
it for it's airshow run. That's where things got interesting...

Shortly after I snapped the shot above, I moved even closer.
Catching shot after shot as the pilot began his pre-flight checks.
Suddenly, one of the guards stopped me and ordered me away
    "Twenty Feet Back... NOW!!"

    I obeyed in a hurry!

But then I captured this image:

    Worth it I think

After the F-117 was under it's own power, we started heading back
to the golf cart we'd been driven in on (did I mention that it surely is
nice to be a member of the press?).

But we didn't make it far before our guide stopped to take a closer
look at the OTHER F-117 they had there... Or rather, a closer "smell".

    "Smells Like Wow"

    He was priceless, lol.

With over 2,000 photos taken Saturday, I'm sad to say that
there is just no way to get them all uploaded here, and summarily
I'll have to jump around a bit.

Why don't we move on to the airshow?

    "The Shockwave"

Powered by three enormous jet engines this Peterbuilt
Semi Truck is capable of nearly 400 MPH... So much fun to watch!
(I'm going to try for a ride soon

    "Grace"

After a coordinated invasion of the main runway, the Marines involved
went along the flight line to shake the hands of all those assembled.
It was such a blessing to see true patriotism in the eyes of these men, and
in those who gripped their hands and thanked them for all they've done
    and will do.

    "Set Apart"

    "I Want One"

You know what's funny about me?
As a wedding photographer, I just cannot get enough of taking
pictures of people.. I love to try to capture a bit of their personality,
their joy, their intensity... All of it.

Even when I'm just supposed to be shooting an airshow, haha

    "Vet"

    "Interesting Tidbit"
When an aircraft pulls high G's or is close to going supersonic, it produces
a unique billowy mist from certain parts of it's airframe. The F-18 has a truly
unique signature, and is often photographed because of it.... But this was the
first time I'd ever seen a rainbow in the mist... Wow!

    "Highspeed Rainbow"

    "Stunning"

Sean Tucker is one of my all time favorite pilots, he is a
master in the sky and is a fantastic showman as well. Really cool

    "World's Smallest Loop"

Up next was the Red Baron Squadron...
    Check this out!

I love the shadows in the clouds that their planes cast... Too cool!

    And then?
It was on to the Thunderbirds
I have a TON of photos, but here's two of my favorites.

    "Timing"

    "Break Away"

After the Thunderbirds Bri and I made a break for the car
to back up images and pick up some more camera gear for the night show.
On the ride there (again, golf carts and media credentials are worth their weight
in gold I snapped this shot:

    "Details"

    Later....

    "I'll Fly Away... Oh Glory."

    "Matthew Saville"

As the night wore on, the crowd waited in anticipation of
fireworks and the famous "Wall of Fire" (See Matt's site for
great pictures of that one soon)

    "Anticipation"

But first, the Jet Truck had to make another run....
Here's what that looks like at night with a 3 minute exposure.
(The yellow white line in the middle is the afterburners from the truck )

And now, my post must end so I bid you goodnight with this
exposure of one part of the "Wall of Fire"... That's Matt just to my right

    What a fun day!
After shooting for nearly 16 hours straight we packed up and
headed back North to Laguna Beach. Did I mention that I moved here?

    More on that later

P.S. Help me out, would ya?
Which was your favorite image today? I'm getting
a few printed for my new place and I need *YOUR* help!

    Thanks

  • Coming Into...

    ..."My Own"

I've been shooting full time for quite a while now, but only recently have I felt
like I'm really coming into my own as far as my style goes... Especially when
    shooting weddings.

That said, I can't even tell you how excited I am to finally feel my style grow
into it's own, and see my photos look *just* the way I want them to...

Like anything with a lot of hard work behind it, the payoff is a grand experience!

    _______________________________________________________________

Alright, enough of my written excitement... Let me show you what I mean!

    _______________________________________________________________

I mentioned in a post a while back that I had a party to shoot in Beverly Hills...
What I failed to tell you was that this was a "White Party".

No, not one of those racist events from the deep South, but rather an excuse for
Hollywood's elite to buy normally unusable clothing and enjoy it! I must admit,
shooting this was an ABSOLUTE blast.

We arrived early, the sun was just beginning to set, and the chef's were scurrying
about the house, preparing for guests. My assistant (Bri) and I were both dressed
in white, and appropriately using white "L" lenses when possible

Let me show you the gorgeous scene we were working with... The home was
originally built in the 1930s, a true "Old Beverly Hills" relic. It was beautiful!

    "Joy Itself"

    Great view, eh?!

    "Details"

    Details #2

When I said that everything was white, I mean EVERYTHING...
The entire home was painted white, and a lovely chocolate brown.
For some reason, I craved chocolate for about a week after this
shoot... I think I just realized why

    "Masque"

    "Sushi Anyone?"

The Sushi Chef they hired was fantastic, hilarious, and extremely
talented... I'm a huge fan of good food and clients who beg me
    to eat more

    Self Portrait...

I spotted this globe, and couldn't resist shooting a quick
    self portrait. Pretty cool, eh?

    The Lower Deck...

    The Lovely Hostess...

A quick note about the glass she's holding, as you may see later
in this post, these martini glasses actually lit up! For a lot of my
night photos, the mini-glowsticks in the glasses were enough
    to beautifully light people's faces.

    Way cool!

    "Missed It"

The memo about white, that is...
This guy had the COOLEST personality though.
    Really fun to photograph

    The Man In Charge...

Michal was engaging and extremely helpful, all evening long.
Though it's no wonder, since he runs an extremely successful
company called "Your Little Helper". If you're in LA or the OC
    look them up!

    "Blue Shoe Photo"

Just in case you forgot the name of my company
And no, those are NOT my feet, lol.. Thanks for helping Bri!

    "Characters"

    "Light and Expression"

LOVE The light in this one... Told you he was a character!

    "The Memo #2"

This guy obviously DID get the memo!
(Xanga isn't letting me post all of these large, really a pity!)

    "Sunset View"

    "A Red Carpet Event"

    "Intent"

    And I should mention....

    "Live"

    And now, a little contest...

    Name This Man...

For some kind of huge prize from me... Anyone?!?!
Whew, this is turning into a loooong post. Sorry dial up users!

    The End...

Shot the above image right as the night was coming to a close...
All the light was provided from drinks, and the lit bar.
Crazy dark, but really a beautiful night!

And that's all for me tonight folks!
Let me know what you think!
    I've got to go pack

  • It Was...

    A Success!

Our workshop, that is... We were nearly filled to capacity,
and our attendees each left having learned something that
    most claimed was "Mind blowing!".

More importantly though, it was a blast!

We had a few learning experiences along the way, but for
the most part, things went well, and some of the images that
have come out of it are more than impressive!

Check out a few of our student's xanga sites for more photos:

Below are a bunch of photos I took during the hours we spent
together... I've got to post some from my latest wedding too, maybe
    later this week

    "Intent"

    Mary...

    Edited_7 copy___Small

This one was taken to show how precise your focus has
to be when shooting "wide open" at F1.2.... I'm an addict.

    Brian....

    Edited_6 copy___Small

You may recognize Brian from my photo last month, entitled
"A Homeschoolers Guide to Smoking"... We met at my wedding
back in June, all the way up in Eureka!

Since the wedding, and our conversations, he purchased his
first DSLR and is really a bit of a prodigy... He's amazing!

    Brian #2.

    Edited_4 copy___Small

Plus, he's just so darn photogenic, lol

    A Little Cap'n In Her...

    Edited_4 copy___Small

This dear girl is never seen outside of her pirate garb,
and she always has a sword within reach.  Terribly sweet,
and hilariously fun, I'm so glad she came!

    David...

A true goof, if e'er there was one...

    Time To Move!

    Edited_11 copy___Small

We had a great group, though we caught quite a few
"strange" looks as we walked along.

    "Gotta Get Religion"

    Edited_12___Small

These guys were getting their own group of weird looks too...
Gotta hand it to them though, it takes some cajones to do
    that in Laguna.

*Tech note* Does anyone else have problems focusing
(auto) with the 16-35mm F2.8L into sunlight? I've never
had a problem with the lens, except when trying to capture
a little glare... Then it just goes soft as putty... Frustrating!

    Beauty.

    Edited_8 copy___Small

I love the light and shadows here...
We had a long, but good walk up to our "sunset spot".

    "In The Spotlight"

    Edited_16 copy___Small

Bri blew us all away by agreeing to model...
As you can see, everyone got in on the fun

    "Dude, Look!"

    Edited_22 copy___Small

Victor showing off, and Mike loving every minute of our time
up there.... With his new 1DMKIII (Which shot SO beautifully!)

    Finale.

us in your hometown, just leave me a comment, or send
me an email at: Eric (at) BlueShoePhotography.com

    We'd love to meet you!

    ____________________________________________

And that's all I have for tonight folks...
    Hope you enjoyed them!

In fact... I'd love to know which photo you liked best; which?!

Actually... Come to think of it, here's a bonus photo for you
from a recent sunset shoot in Laguna

    "The Power Within Silk"

I'm planning on posting about the wedding I mentioned
earlier, and I'll tell you... I LOVE these images! It was a
gorgeous wedding in a Japanese Garden in Long Beach, CA...
    Tons of fun
